Opened in 2018 The Studio at Sunbeams is a professional recording studio and is part of the incredible work of Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust. Run by award-winning producer and engineer Pete Ord The Studio seeks to provide a high quality, top level recording studio accessible to all, from garage band to international orchestra. We recognise that the recording landscape has changed dramatically in the last decade with technology more affordable and readily available, DIY recording has boomed, however we still believe that the perfect recording space and engineer/producer is vital. We're happy to work with you on your project, whether thats a full album production or just a space to track drums before taking the project home. You can see our world class equipment list here. SUNBEAMS MUSIC CENTRE
The Sunbeams Music Centre is an award winning ecologically designed music centre, built on a green field site on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Less than one mile from M6, J40 dug into a gentle slopping site against the A66 on one side and pushing in to the landscape on the other side, with open countryside and stunning views.
The building has been carefully constructed with natural materials - clad in beautiful cedar shingles, internal oak panelling and a stunning curved Cumbrian slate wall which runs solidly through the length of the building, above the Centre a similar wall edges the green roof. The Centre embodies values of music; timbre, rhythm, melody, volume. The roof rises gently towards the entrance with the staccato façade as the background rhythm punctured by dominant acoustically derived forms.

The Sunbeams Music Centre has been shortlisted and won several building awards including the LABC Winner of Best Small Commercial Project, Northern Building Excellence Awards 2017. RICS, Winner of Community Benefit 2018.
