Covid-19 guidelines

We are thrilled to be opening our doors again to all recording studio clients. Inline with government guidance we have conducted a thorough risk assessment of The Studio and Sunbeams Music Centre. Outlined below is how your new Covid-safe session will look. We’ll also be sending out the full risk assessment to all clients ahead of the day.

01/

  • You will be required to observe social distancing throughout your time at the venue. In order to enable this, arrival times will be staggered, or a socially distanced queuing entry system may be in place.

02/

  • The premises will provide hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the building, as well as soap dispensers in the changing room, for the benefit of clients and staff alike. We would ask that clients do their utmost to make sure hands, in particular, are kept clean at all times.

03/

  • A thermometer and temperature check point, at the point of entry to the venue. Although this will not be mandatory, we would encourage all clients to use them before a session begins; for the peace of mind of both our engineers and clients alike.

04/

  • New reduced room capacities will be in place and may be sign-posted at entry points. Recording should be undertaken in smaller ensemble groups within socially distanced studio layouts. Depending on the size of your ensemble please discuss this with Pete ahead of your session to develop a plan for tracking.

05/

  • Unfortunately due to the size and ventilation of the control room we are unable to allow clients in this area. However we will be able to listen to recordings from the control room with the doors open, and we are pleased to be able to offer attendance to a ‘virtual’ mixing session with high definition audio online.

06/

  • New deep cleaning and hygiene procedures have taken place and will be carried out thoroughly every day/evening by Freedom Clean.

07/

  • Toilet facilities will be operating with reduced capacity, and socially distanced queuing, which may require adjustment to the scheduling of breaks.

08/

  • Special arrangements are in place regarding handling of instruments, sheet music and session form paperwork in order to minimise the risk of passing infection. These will no longer be provided – musicians must bring their own.

09/

  • All microphones will be disinfected and cleaned ahead of your session and depending on the nature of your session they may require cleaning throughout the day.

10/

  • If you are feeling unwell on the day of your booking, please don’t come in – instead let us know by phone or email, and we will seek to rearrange your booking for you, at no additional cost. In addition, if you have experienced any Coronavirus symptoms in the previous 14 days, however mild, please call us to rearrange your booking.

11/

  • Please note that – although The Studios engineer always seeks to work as quickly and efficiently as possible – because of the vital need to maintain cleanliness and ensure studio hygiene at the current time, it is possible you may not get as much done in the time booked as you may previously have done.
