THE TEAM

Pete Ord
About
Pete has over 15 years experience as a producer and recording engineer. Perhaps best known for his work in folk and acoustic music where his ear for capturing sounds and instruments along with his creative flair has seen his productions nominated for multiple awards, with regular airplay across international radio stations (including BBC 2,3,4 and 6). Alongside his production work, Pete is a passionate educator and holds a Senior Lecturer position at Leeds Conservatoire working with the next generation of talented producers.
Signature Style
At heart Pete is a classic Producer who loves being involved in projects from early conception and working with artists on realising their dream vision. He’s passionate about recorded music as an art form and crafting the right sonic journey. Whilst in recent years Pete is best known for his work with acoustic, folk and roots music he is also a true teenager of the noughties and is equally at home with loud driving guitars and drums as he is with the nuance and complexity of acoustic instruments.
Outside the Studio
When not working on music Pete is an avid basketball fan following his beloved Boston Celtics. You can find him with his head buried in a good book, cooking a new recipe or regularly flying across the Atlantic to visit his partner in New York.

About
Tom is the studio's junior recording engineer and the newest addition to the team. He is currently spending his professional training year at Sunbeams as part of his music and sound recording degree at the University of Surrey. His degree so far has seen him record a range of ensembles from indie bands to symphony orchestras, in both studio and live settings. His time composing, producing and playing for bands, solo artists and even film directors has given him a precise attention to detail and a diverse portfolio of collaborations.
Signature Style
Whether it be to his advantage or otherwise, Tom is a perfectionist and won't rest until he achieves what he envisions in his head. In the case of recording, he favours a simple yet effective approach, letting the authenticity of the performance shine through. He is a fan of anything raw that captures the atmosphere in the room, although he is not afraid to experiment with recording techniques for a larger than life sound either.
Outside the Studio
Outside of the studio, you'll find Tom hiking in the fells, hiding away in a bouldering gym somewhere or spending way too much time writing music he'll probably never finish - (his own words)
